Dear Mr. Geuzaine,
I have been using gmsh for a while and really like it as a meshing program.
Thanks for keeping such a quality program open-source. I have been promoting
it all round.
I'm having trouble in choosing the best algorithm to mesh the geometry i'm
attatching. As it is, the all-hex algoritm (I need to generate only
hexahedrons) is working but it generates a lot of strange elements with rho
< 0.01. These tend to crash my FEA software.
I would like to try a transfinite structured mesh in order to get a better
mesh but don't know where to start. I've meshed 2d surfaces (for 2d
problems) using this by following the examples. But i am lost for 3D.
Could you help me with this?
Best regards,
BTW: I'm working on a GUI interface program to help import these meshes into
OpenSEES (opensees.berkeley.edu) that will help my students work with these
models with a much lower overhead. If you want to check out (very drafty as
of now) you can do a search for gmsh2opensees in google code. I'd appreciate
your comments. Maqybe you're interested in collab.
