Hello.  I recommend you send it to the Gmsh list, as I've never
actually created a Gmsh geometry or mesh from IGES or STEP myself,
I've only seen others do it; I do know it's possible though, as I've
seen the resulting three-dimensional meshes successfully used in
FreeFem++ finite element calculations.

I sounds as if your original IGES geometry is deficient.  Can you
define the missing geometrical entities in Gmsh based on whatever it
is that the IGES does provide?
