Attached is a slightly modified file that uses bsplines in OpenCASCADE: it looks better at first sight. If you need better regularity, I would recommend defining a single spline (in OpenCASCADE), then intersecting with the construction lines to define your structured patches.

In order to obtain a structured mesh and to control the refinement in different zones, I'm breaking up the surface geometry into three splines (attached the .geo file). However, adopting this strategy results in discontinuities in curvature at the junction of the splines. Is there any way around this?
