[Gmsh] Cells disappear

Hi,

I have encountered a problem in which cells seem to disappear from my mesh
when I increase the size of the system relative to the minimum cell width.

Specifically, when the ratio of the maximum dimension of the system ("ll_x"
in surface.geo <http://surface.in/> attached) to the minimum prescribed
mesh element size ("delx_s") is larger than 1.e7, some columns of cells
disappear as shown in the screenshot attached (for this case I have used a
ratio of 1.e8, ll_x=1.e3, delx_s=1.e-5). The mesh behaves properly if I
decrease the ratio to 1.e6.

Have you seen this behaviour before? Do you know of any solution to this
problem?

Thanks in advance,
Wei-Lun Hsu
