[Gmsh] importing airfoil geometry

Hi,

I have a set of coordinates for an aerofoil (as a ".dat" file) and would like to know if there is a way of simply importing it into Gmsh so that the geometry is automatically created.

I read through this previous thread http://geuz.org/pipermail/gmsh/2010/005238.html but it seems that the user had already created a .geo file. Do I have to do this manually?
