[Gmsh] Mesh Generation with Different Element Sizes

Hi there,
I'm trying to generate a 2D mesh that has small vortexes in regions
close to the border of the surface and large vortexes on the remaining
surface. So far I did not figure out how to tell gmsh to do this.

Could anybody suggest a solution or link to a part of the documentation
I have overread?
