[Gmsh] Define physical entities from imported CAD file

Hi,

I'm working on a FEM module for FreeCAD and I would like to use gmsh to create the mesh for geometries.

I've found somewhere on the mailing list that gmsh can be used (non-interactively, I think) through the network, but couldn't find more detailed description on the documentation: is there some link or examples around?

Second: how can I automatically define the physical entities in GMSH only based on the CAD-generated file (a STEP file, I guess...)
