Leandro Castro,

I have successfully run a few different versions of gmsh on Ubuntu
9.10, without any hassle.
Ubuntu also has a version that comes in its application downloaded.
>From the ubuntu desktop go to Aplications> Ubuntu Software Center and
install it(very fast, click, click, click). I think that one is a few
versions back, but it does most everything.

Make sure you Ubuntu is fully updated. You may need to install new
videocard drivers or install a new video card in your system. Let us
know your video card make and model, its likely some one has used
something similar. It may also be good to post and open gl issue with
your card to the ubuntu forums.

Best of luck!
