[Gmsh] Fail to use size fields in STEP file

When I try to generate the 2D mesh of the STEP solid (see .GEO file
attached) using size fields (box), the program crashes. My goal is to refine
the mesh in the region of the legs and have a coarse mesh in the region of
the shell and top of the vessel.

How can I do that?
