Dear Peter,
Could you remove the ~/.gmshrc file and try with the latest SVN build from the web site? The problem might be Mac-specific and caused by a small bug I just fixed.

I downloaded the latest version again, as well as the svn version, and got the same results. I have a feeling that one of my dylibs has been corrupted, but I don’t know which one.
