Hello,

I would like to create a (complex) geometry in FreeCAD, assign labels
(physical groups?) to surfaces and volumes for later use, mesh it in
gmsh, and then import to Salome-Meca for analysis using Code Aster.

First of all, is this possible?

If so, how? I can't figure out how to assign physical groups to an
imported brep or step file. If I do achieve this will it be possible to
then export the mesh in such a way that I can import into Salome-Meca
and easily assign properties to the groups?

I think this information would be useful to a lot of people, as this
would be a useful workflow.

I'm not a list subscriber, so could you CC me on any replies please.

Thanks,
Richard
