[Gmsh] a crack surface within a volume

Hi all,

I am a newbie. So, sorry if it is too simple or already solved in 
another thread. Does anyone have an idea how to create a crack surface 
within a volume like the one in the attached image, which also has 
double nodes on both sides of the crack? The crack surface does not go 
all the way through the volume. If that is not possible, what should the 
best way to create the closest mesh structure in gmsh?
