[Gmsh] [Question] I need help to make tetrahedral mesh with STEP file

The problem is that there are duplicate surfaces between the inner and outer cylinder. This can be resolved by gmsh in some cases. Check "Tools->Options->Geometry->General->Cut and merge faces" before opening your step file. This resolved the conflicting faces for your test case on my system.

For more complicated cases, I am working on a solution which I am unfortunately not ready to release yet.

Dear developers and colleagues,



I am trying to make tetrahedral elements by Gmsh with CAD file (*.step).



In a CAD design, I used two cylinders just like water in a cup. (part1 is cup and part2 is water).

In this geometry, two faces are in contact with each other. (bottom of water and side of water).



Is it possible to make tetrahedral mesh that two faces share same nodes on the contacting surface?



With the current version of Gmsh (2.5.1), it seems that each volume has their own nodes on the contacting surface not sharing each others.



In the reactor physics calculation, we need this option very much.



Please consider above problems.



If the current version of Gmsh (2.5.1) has a option for this, please let me know.



I am attacing step file (Product1.stp) for above geometry.
