[Gmsh] Importing CAD files for meshing

Hello list,

I need to mesh complex models generated using Mechanical Desktop, Solidworks and Pro/e. If i export the files as STEP or IGES, i have to redefine all the edges and surfaces and volumes, which would take too long....is there a way or format which gmsh can read that does not require this?
