Hi Luca - It's a feature: physical groups are meant to be "groups of
elementary entities". So you cannot have the mesh of a single elementary
entity split into 3 physical groups. If you want to split the mesh of an
elementary entity, you should use a mesh partition (available in the 
.msh file format version 2).
