Dear Christoph,

I have sent a GetDP Wiki http://www.geuz.org/getdp/wiki/ParallelZylinders2D <http://www.geuz.org/getdp/wiki/ParallelZylinders2D> one can play with. Different geometry (use symmetry or not) and different treatment of the far boundary condition (zero dirichlet bdy. without or with spherical or rectangular shell transformation) can be chosen in a simple way by means of the "TwoZylPar.pro " file.

The attached picture shows in the 4 quadrants the results for the 2D solution with a zylindrical (top) or rectangular (bottom) calc. domain, left hand side without shell region, on the right with shell transformation. The thin potential-lines are from the exact solution calculated on the same grid.

For the rect. shell transformation the center point is set in the origin of the coordinate system, so two parameters, "power" and "1/inf" remain to fit the solution. But I was not able to get a nice solution as the one shown in the quadrant with the spherical transformation.

Nice greetings from Vienna

Karl
