Everything is coded in double precision. That's (usually) not the
limiting factor in the accuracy of the methods though: I would advise
you to read a little bit (or take a course) on the numerical analysis of
partial differential equations.

In GetDP the weak formulation is written in a text file. You don't have
to program or compile anything unless you need some new numerical method
that is not implemented yet.
